Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 20, 2026
1. Who we are
WowPhoto ("we", "our", "us") is a mobile application that uses AI to restore old or damaged photos. This Privacy Policy explains what data we handle when you use the app and what choices you have.
2. What we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, location, or any social-network sign-in.
Photos you upload. When you choose a photo for restoration, we receive that photo and produce a restored version. Both files are stored on our servers so that you can view and download the result.
An anonymous device identifier. When you first open the app we generate a random identifier and store it in your device's secure storage. This lets you keep your restoration history if you reinstall the app. The identifier is not linked to any name, email, or account information.
Purchase records. When you buy a credit pack, we receive the transaction ID, the product purchased, and the resulting credit balance from Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your card number or billing address.
Push notification token (only if you allow notifications). Used to tell you when a restoration is finished.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, we receive a stack trace, your device model, OS version, app version, and the anonymous identifier above, so we can fix the bug.
Usage analytics. We record events like "started a restoration", "viewed the result", "opened the paywall", along with the anonymous identifier and standard properties (device model, OS version, app version, language, country derived from IP). We use this only to understand how the app is used. We do not collect any advertising identifier (IDFA / Android Ad ID), and we do not share data for advertising purposes.
3. How we use it
- To run the restoration service (process the photos you upload, deliver the result, keep your history)
- To process purchases and apply credits to your balance
- To notify you when a restoration is ready (only if you opt in)
- To fix crashes and improve the app
- To understand how features are used and prioritize improvements
- To prevent abuse of the service
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers ("subprocessors"):
- Google (Firebase) — hosts our authentication, database, file storage, push notifications, analytics and crash reporting
- Adapty — manages in-app purchases and forwards purchase events to our analytics
- Runware — performs the AI photo restoration. We send Runware only the photo bytes and a restoration instruction; we do not send your identifier or any other personal information.
- Apple (on iPhone/iPad) and Google (on Android) — handle the actual purchase transaction and push notification delivery
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes by third parties.
We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of WowPhoto or its users.
5. How long we keep it
- Restoration photos (originals and results) are kept until you tap Settings → Clear history. After that, we delete them from our servers within 30 days.
- Purchase records are kept indefinitely for accounting and to honor refunds.
- Crash reports are kept up to 90 days.
- Analytics events are kept up to 14 months.
- Local data on your device (history cache, preferences, the anonymous identifier) lives on your device until you tap Clear history or uninstall the app.
Because accounts are fully anonymous, uninstalling the app and clearing the history is the equivalent of deleting your account.
6. Your choices
- Your photo history — you can delete it at any time from Settings → Clear history. This wipes the local copy immediately and queues the server-side copies for deletion (within 30 days).
- Push notifications — you can turn them off at any time in Settings → Preferences or in your device's system settings.
- Camera and photo-library access — you can revoke either permission in your device settings; the app will still work for the parts that don't need them.
If you have a privacy request we haven't covered, email us at support@ilsur.me and we will do our best to help.
7. Children
WowPhoto is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the related data.
8. Security
All connections between the app and our servers are encrypted in transit (TLS). Data stored in our cloud database and file storage is encrypted at rest by our infrastructure provider. The anonymous identifier on your device is stored in hardware-backed secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore).
9. International users
WowPhoto is operated from servers located in the United States. By using the app, you understand that your data will be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. For users in the EU, UK, or other regions with data-transfer rules, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If the change is significant, we will notify you in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
